Tina Zafred, Head of eHRM, delivered an inspiring talk as part of the official program titled “What Happens When HR and IT Finally Start Working Together?”. In her presentation, she demonstrated how HR and IT can co-create a digital employee experience that truly resonates with people.

“Digitalization should not be a goal in itself. It must stem from an understanding of how technology can simplify, support, and give meaning to people’s work,” Zafred emphasized.

She shared practical steps – from mapping employees’ daily activities and identifying where valuable time is lost, to tailoring the user experience and involving digital ambassadors.

“We asked employees: ‘Where are you losing time?’ – and then digitized exactly those processes that really matter,” she added. “But without strong IT support and continuous dialogue with employees, digital tools can’t reach their full potential.”

She also addressed the topic of artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting that HR departments must not fall behind: “Start with people and processes – not with technology. Implementing AI requires rules, skills, a culture of experimentation, and high-quality data. And above all – courage.”
